Residential Conveyancing

Conveyancing deals with the various transactions involved in the sale, purchase, and mortgaging of a property.
At MBJ Law our goal is to make the process of buying and selling a home as stress free as possible. We provide friendly professional services at competitive prices.

Why Use MBJ Law
In the purchase or sale of a home you work with a realtor to assist in the sale or purchase of a property up to acceptance of the offer.
A legal professional is required to complete the paperwork on the home after the offer has been accepted.
We work with your chosen realtors and lending institutions to ensure that transactions are completed seamlessly. We focus on ensuring you understand the purchase or sale of your property by outlining the closing documents clearly and in terms you can understand.
Whether you are a first time buyer or a seasoned purchaser, the team at MBJ Law will ensure that your transaction is completed properly and with the least amount of stress.
Services we offer but are not limited to:
  • Corporate and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Residential Conveyancing:
    • Buying and selling houses, or condos
    • Re-finances
    • Mortgages
    • Contracts of Purchase and Sale

Wills & Estate Planning

Estate planning can be full of questions. What is an Estate Plan? Should I have a will? How can I ensure that my loved ones are properly provided for? What is a Power or Attorney and should I have one? Our estate lawyers are here to help you answer your questions and get you what you need to protect your family.
Why should I plan my estate?
An estate plan is a simple and organized transfer of your assets to loved ones. The loss of a loved one can be hard on everyone in the family and without an estate plan there can be added stress to those left behind. The plan ensures everything is transferred to the proper family member and no one has to stress about division of assets or about taxation, fees, or delays.
When to start planning my estate?
Setting up an estate plan should start when you first acquire assets including a home or investments. It is especially important to create an estate plan when minors or elders are involved and depend on you.
Without a will, your family is at the mercy of the provincial laws regarding the division of assets. Because there are no clear instructions, your family will also likely face delays and expenses when wrapping up your affairs and filling your final bills.
We will help you plan, create, and probate your will so your wishes are met and your family is protected.

Each person in a household should have:
  • Will
  • Representation Agreement
  • Power of Attorney
About Representation Agreements
This document allows you to appoint a person to make healthcare decisions for you if you are not able to do so for yourself.

About the Power of Attorney
This document allows you to appoint someone to represent you in legal matters. It can be extended to be valid should you become incompetent, by sickness or accident.

We’ve seen the consequences of what can happen if you don’t put plans in place for your family and estate. It can put a strain on relationships, family, and your estate may not get administered the way you had wanted.

At MBJ Law, we are here to help.
We offer a variety of Estate Planning tools and options. We can advise you on what steps you need to take now to ensure the proper administration of your estate so all of your wishes are followed.
